live at the grocery on home

Letter from Ben….

Hello Friends,

I want to start off with a huge high-five for all the support through the release of the live record and my ride from NYC to DC as part of the 2012 Climate Ride. With your enthusiasm we’ve raised over $2500 for Kentuckians for the Commonwealth and motivated me (despite a bad bike wreck that totaled my bike and nearly me) to ride over 330 miles to the National Mall in front of Congress. If you wanted to support the cause but didn’t get around to it you still can! Just head over to my Climate Ride profile.

For those of you that made it out to shows in May I hope you had as good a time as we did. Every show was exciting and different and you all in the audience were so rocking! Now, Jordon Ellis and I will direct our dear tour van Tammy north for shows beginning next week. Are we coming through your community? Check out the tour calendar and get your tickets in advance to these intimate venues. Plus, the shows are pretty much the only place to get the limited edition printing of Live at the Grocery on Home unless you order it here.

There’s lot of cool happenings on the horizon! Our biggest hurdle is letting folks now where and when we are. If you want to have some fun and spread the word you can download the tour poster directly from the website and hang it up in your favorite spot in town. Snap a picture of your handiwork and email it teamsollee@bensollee.com and we’ll make sure that you get a $5 voucher for the merch table at the show you attend! Come on, you know there’s a primo spot in your favorite coffee shop that could use a little decoration.

Again, thanks for all the support. We’ll keep coming if you do!
Ben

Ben Sollee Live at Heine Brothers, episode 3 in Merch that Matters

Here is Episode 3 in Ben’s ‘Merch that Matters’ series, connected to his Live at the Grocery On Home release. This film captures the excitement and enthusiasm of the large crowd gathered for Ben’s in-store release party at Heine Brothers. We hope you enjoy it and share it!

Pre-Orders available for new LIVE at The Grocery On Home!

If you have ever seen Ben Sollee perform live, then you know that he really shines in that setting! If you haven’t seen him live, then this album will give you a taste until you can make a show. And Ben has something extra special for you with his first live album, LIVE at The Grocery On Home. He has teamed up with Kentucky’s newest artisan letterpress, Hound Dog Press, to create a stunningly beautiful album. You can see more about it here:

You can Pre-Order the CD or download.  But you are going to want the physical copy! If the video above didn’t convince you that you need to hold and touch the beautiful work of Hound Dog Press, maybe the extra gift CD included will.  That’s right. When you buy the CD, also included is a second copy that you can give away to a friend! We are having a contest on Ben’s facebook page right now, too. Share who you would give your gift copy to and why. The 5 most compelling stories will win a free CD!

You can also catch Ben for the CD release on May 1st 7pm at Heine Brothers at Eastern Parkway/Bardstown Rd., an event made possible by Mom’s Music. Ben’s Live album will only be sold through Heine Brothers or online.  Most of the songs will be familiar to fans, with the exception of Turn On The Moon. That song first made an appearance on Ben’s first independently released solo album of the same name.
